Flat Wagon Bogie

In mechanical terminology, a bogie refers to a structural framework that supports and carries the wheels connected to coaches. In the United States, the bogie is commonly referred to as a "truck." Bogies come in various configurations and dimensions, but they are most advanced in their design when incorporated as a motor bogie in electric or diesel locomotives, or in an EMU (Electric Multiple Unit). In this context, the bogie is responsible for accommodating the motors, brakes, and suspension systems within a compact space. It is subjected to significant stresses and shocks, and it may need to operate at speeds exceeding 300 km/h in high-speed applications.
